Ship something every week
October 1, 2026 · Brimwood Team · habits, shipping, demo night
There is one habit that predicts whether a builder makes progress: shipping something every week. Not planning. Not learning. Shipping.
It does not have to be big. A landing page. A prototype. A post that explains the idea. The size does not matter; the streak does.
Why weekly works
A week is short enough to stay honest and long enough to make something real. Miss a week and you feel it. Hit four in a row and you have momentum, which is the scarcest resource a new business has.
Weekly shipping also forces scope discipline. You cannot ship something big every week, so you learn to cut. Cutting is the skill.
Why we demo on Fridays
This is why Brimwood runs Friday demo nights. A standing date with other builders turns “I should ship” into “I am showing this on Friday.” Social accountability beats willpower.
The demos are not pitches. Nobody is raising money in the room. They are show-and-tell: here is what I built, here is what broke, here is what is next.
Start this Friday
Pick the smallest shippable version of what you are working on. Put it somewhere people can see it. Then do it again next week.
Fifty-two weeks of that, and you will not recognize your starting point.
